With more than 25 years of legal practice, Akın Batmaz is an independent lawyer based in Bodrum, Muğla, Turkey. His current practice includes legal review and representation in matters involving Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). In 2025, he completed a PhD in Environmental Sciences at Ege University. He is a member of the Environmental Commission of the Muğla Bar Association.
For over two decades, he has advised international clients on cross-border legal matters, including property transactions, inheritance and the transfer of inherited assets in Turkey. He also prepares legal opinions for Turkish lawyers handling cross-border inheritance matters.
After graduating from Ankara University Faculty of Law, he completed an LL.M. in Private International Law. His academic work has covered foreign individuals’ acquisition of real estate and cross-border inheritance, as well as doctoral research on international environmental agreements and EIA for industrial facilities. He now draws on this academic background in his legal work on EIA-related matters. He provides legal services in English and Turkish.
